Home from Home and a bit more!

Spacious comfortable and clean rooms
Well cooked breakfasts
Ideally situated between Bowness and Windermere

Plenty of room to keep your car safe. But most importantly we have never been somewhere that the owners made us feel so welcome and left us to do as we pleased at the same time, which is a hard act to balance.

Perfect bolt hole in the lakes

Just returned from a lovely weekend staying here with friends and our children.

Rooms and bathrooms are furnished beautifully and kept immaculately clean and fresh. The fridge in the room is great for storing a nice bottle wine to enjoy at the end of the day and in our case milk for our toddler.

We stayed in room 11 with our little boy in a travel cot, which Trevor and Philippa had supplied for us along with a lovely fleece blanket and baby duvet – which was perfect for our boy as this is what he has at home.

Both Philippa and Trevor are very welcoming, helpful and attentive.

We were treated on our arrival to tea, coffee, squash for the kiddies and some yummy shortbread biscuits – this was a lovely touch and something that was much appreciated by us all; as we’d just traveled for over 2 and a half hours to get there.

We were lucky enough to have good weather for most of the weekend and visited the Aquarium via the boats and had lovely stroll up into Windermere and down into Bowness; both are within easy walking distance, even with a toddler 🙂

Breakfast is top notch – great variety and the team at the Hawksmoor happily catered to all of our children’s needs (kids are tricky customers)

I would not hesitate to recommend this guest house, and can say that we will happily return again!

Thank you Philippa and Trevor

Well run friendly, well managed

We spent New Year here and loved it, well managed friendly the staff could not do enough for the guests. The rooms were spotless with everything you could need and the breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choices.

Short walk to Windermere makes it a great spot to stay.
