well run friendly, well managed

We spent New Year here and loved it, well managed friendly the staff could not do enough for the guests. The rooms were spotless with everything you could need and the breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choices.

Short walk to Windermere makes it a great spot to stay.

I took the other reviews with a pinch of salt, but after staying for two nights to explore Windermere and the southern Lake District, I can truly say that they are all 100% correct - it is an amazing B&B. Wonderful rooms, wonderful staff and a wonderful breakfast!

Amazing B&B!!!

From the start of our stay at Hawksmoor to going home, everything was perfect & nothing was too much trouble. Philippa & Trevor were perfect hosts, very friendly & made you feel at home. Lovely staff also.

Our room was amazing lovely balcony, big tv & huge bed, spotless. Underfloor heating in bathroom was lovely on our feet. Plenty DVD's. to borrow. Really lovely touch on my birthday sparkler in my amazing breakfast & a box of chocolates & card in my room.

Breakfasts very filling & plenty of choice. Location is brilliant, 10 minutes walk either way to Bowness or Windermere. Thank you so much Phillippa & Trevor. We're looking forward to coming back soon xx

recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Hawksmoor Guest House. This was our 4th stay here and once again was not disappointed.

On our arrival was made very welcome by Phillipa, who soon had us sat in the conservatory with a cup of tea and home made shortbread biscuits (home made by Trevor). We had booked room 2 which we have always stayed in but was offered another room (4) as it would give us more space for our longer stay.

The room was amazing, plenty of room to spread out and a fantastic bathroom. Bonus, a fridge too. The room was spotless and very well equipped. For those not too good on their legs, its up 2 flights of stairs.

The room was serviced and fresh supplies of tea, coffee etc everyday. As this was our honeymoon, a card and a box of very fine chocolates was waiting for us, THANK YOU so much for this Phillipa & Trevor.

Breakfast is out of this world with a fantastic choice of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice and pastries. The main breakfast is to die for, with choice of items that can be added depending on your appetite and tastes.

I always have the fell walkers breakfast which fills me until tea time. Tea, coffee and toast as much as you can manage. Helen was missing on this trip (but will return for our next trip) who would normally serve breakfast but the Lady who served this trip was just as nice Fiona (I think). Through out our stay the standards did not drop and we were treated like family members.

Its a great atmosphere and can only be described as the perfect place to stay for short or long trips away.

Thank you Hawksmoor once again.

Lord & Lady you know who.

Best B&B we have been to so far!

Rooms were clean, modern and tastefully decorated. Location was good too. Breakfast choice was generous and food was very tasty with ingredients sourced locally.

We also got a pass to use a SPA in a different hotel for free, but sadly didn't have enough time to try it.

Would love to come back to this place!
