When you are up in the Lake District, there is always something to do and something to see such as Windermere Lake Cruises. Recently the largest Steamer Boat in the Lake District ever to sail on Lake Windermere was given a winter make over! The steam boat was originally launched in 1936 and can hold more than five hundred passengers and has even hosted the Queen!

The most recognisable Steamer Ship in Windermere has been given a makeover and a new look. There have been many additions to the steamer, a crisp new engine, front deck and a new modernised bridge has been added to the steamer.

The huge task is being tackled by Windermere lake cruises winter maintenance programme. However, majority of the work is being accomplished by staff from Windermere lake cruises. Many of the team are fully qualified welders, engineers, electricians, with some being previously part of the BAE systems team working for the Royal Navy.
