One of the most popular restaurants guests can enjoy in our local area is the Village Inn Bar and Grill in Bowness-on-Windermere, and their latest creation is sure to be a hit with the many fans of the book and film series Harry Potter.
The Butterbeer Cocktail, which takes its name from the beverage made famous in the hit movie, is made with a secret formula that contains butterscotch sauce, vodka, butter, lemonade and cream, and is already a best-seller at the eatery!
Explaining the thinking behind the new drink, owner Ian Dutton said: “We’re delighted with the reaction to our new butterbeer cocktail and were keen to create a really unusual taste. We’re all Harry Potter fans – who isn’t?! The timing was also appropriate given the recent death of Alan Rickman – one of our favourite characters – so it’s also a nod to him.”
They have become more playful with the menus at the Village Inn Bar and Grill since head chef Gareth Webster joined the team, having previously worked at Simon Rogan's acclaimed Pig and Whistle venture.
One of the many choices for dining in the Hawksmoor Lakeland Guest House's locality, the Village Inn Bar and Grill has a 'skinny champagne' on its drinks menu, so you can enjoy a glass of bubbly without the normal calorie content found in the celebratory drink.
Meanwhile, Ian Dutton has confirmed that there will soon be a new kid on the block on the Windermere restaurant scene - The Pig will specialise in offering a variety of pork dishes.
