All over the country, schools celebrated World Book Day on the 2nd March; the costumes were amusing, brilliant and all round fun!
Windermere School gave the day a slight makeover as the children were challenged to read (and Dress Up For World Book Day) stories from different cultures from around the globe. The result showed almost every continent demonstrating international equality. Mexico, South Africa, Russia & Japan were just a few of the cultures which were present in the schools assembly. Russian Princesses swaggered down the red carpet and into hall. Aladdin was waiting at the door and yelled Open Sesame! All kinds of African animals stalked all around the corridors of the school. All the students at the school not only looked amazing in their outfits, but also really enjoyed World Book Day at the school.
But What Is World Book Day? The day celebrates the authors, illustrators, books and the celebration of reading! The day is celebrated in over 100 countries all over the world!
